Rainscaping – The Next Generation of Water-Wise Landscaping”

With Shannon Brown – Tuesday, May 28, 2019

What: Fredericksburg Native Plant Society Meeting

Topic:  “Rainscaping – The Next Generation of Water Wise Landscaping”

Brief: Shannon Brown designs native plant gardens and landscapes that not only conserve water during dry spells but mitigate flooding during downpours.  At the same time, her “rain-scape” gardens work double duty to regenerate the soil and surrounding ecosystem.  Following permaculture principles, Brown is adept at designing everything from container gardens to lawn conversions, food forests, prairie restoration and reforestation and urban plant walks.

Complementing a degree in ecology, Brown also is certified as a native plant landscaper, permaculture designer, holistic management practitioner and low impact development construction inspector.  She is the owner of Ecosystem Regeneration Artisans, a landscaping company in San Marcos.
