On May 24, at 6:00 pm, award-winning author and land management specialist, Dr. Jim Stanley, will present “Your Hill Country Land; Its History, The Problems, The Solutions, and Why It Matters” at Fredericksburg High School. The presentation will offer insights for anyone interested in the preservation of Hill Country land, from new property owners to multi-generational ranchers.

Stanley, a chemical researcher by profession, has lived in the Hill Country since 2000, devoting his time to learning about land management and related issues. He is the author of “Hill Country Landowner’s Guide”, “A Beginner’s Handbook for Rural Texas Landowners– How to Live in the Country without Spoiling It”, and “Hill Country Ecology: Essays on Plants, Animals, Water, and Land Management”. Stanley writes the weekly column, “Hill Country Naturalist”, for four Hill Country newspapers. He is an active Hill Country Master Naturalist and conducts free reviews of Hill Country property through the Master Naturalist Land Management Assistance Program.
