Celebrate the Night Sky with us this October!
Hill Country Night Sky Month is a month long celebration of the star-filled night sky and of the many ways that Hill Country communities are working together to preserve one of our region’s most dazzling features!
There are many ways to join the fun and help spread night sky awareness in the Hill Country. Learn about night sky friendly lighting, attend or host an event, become a citizen scientist, and connect with your county’s Friends of the Night Sky Group!
Upcoming Events
Hill Country Night Sky Month events are spread throughout the Texas Hill Country and – in light of the coronavirus pandemic – largely online! Check out some of the highlights below and explore all of our options on the Event Calendar.
Night Sky Song Writing Contest
Now until October 3
The Blanco County Friends of the Night Sky is sponsoring the second annual Night Sky Songwriting Contest to celebrate the wonders of the night sky and encourage its protection. Winning songs will wind up on Deep in the Dark of Texas™, Vol 2.
