Topic: Texas Bumble Bees—What’s the Buzz?

Brief: Jessica Beckham introduces us to Texas bumble bees— their lifecycle, their adaptation as the perfect pollinator and her research regarding their population status in Texas. Her interest is to find ways that humans and bumble bees can peacefully coexist in an increasingly urbanized world.

Dr. Beckham received her Ph.D. in Environmental Science at the University of North Texas in Denton. Her dissertation topic was the “Influence of Urban Green Spaces on Bumble Bees.” She is currently at Lecturer at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
