The Save Our Scenic Hill Country Environment (SOSHCE) Annual Membership Meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at 7 pm in the Central Texas Electric Co-op (CTEC) Community Room at 386 Friendship Lane in Fredericksburg. The featured presentations will provide updates on industrial wind and transmission developments. The presentations will be preceded by a brief business meeting which will include the election of six Directors to fill expiring positions. The meeting will be open to the public.
The presentations are consistent with SOSHCE’s on-going efforts to actively monitor industrial wind and transmission developments and to help keep landowners, public officials and others informed. The meeting is timely as extension of the federal production tax credit for industrial wind is again being debated. In addition, it is expected that the Public Utility Commission will have issued a final order on the proposed Blumenthal Substation and 138-kV Transmission Line Project at their open meeting on November 5th.
Updates will also be provided on wind development activities in the Hill Country and across the state. Of specific concern is the industrial wind farm that appears to still be a possibility in Mason and Menard counties. SOSHCE’s on-going efforts to monitor transmission planning activities will also be discussed.
(Tuesday) 7:00 pm - 7:00 pm
