TESPA Event: Impacts of the EP Permit When: May 29th at 7:00 PM Where: Saint Stephens Church, 6000 FM3237, Wimberley, TX 78676
When: May 29th at 7:00 PM
Where: Saint Stephens Church, 6000 FM3237, Wimberley, TX 78676
TESPA will be holding a follow up meeting after the Barton Springs Edwards Aquifer Conservation District issues its recommendations on Electro Purification’s permit application to pump 2.5 million gallons of groundwater a day from the Middle Trinity Aquifer near Driftwood and Wimberley. We intend to briefly discuss the preliminary decision, answer questions, and discuss a path forward.
As we discussed at the May 15th meeting, BSEACD projects that pumping this amount of groundwater will cause 300-500 feet of drawdown in the Cow Creek Aquifer within one year and after seven years could result in dewatering of the Cow Creek Aquifer. BSEACD is currently reviewing EP’s application.
Please attend this meeting to learn how your groundwater resources will be impacted and what we can do to protect the Trinity Aquifer.
